Uncomfortable Table: Service (2025)

18 x 15 | Acrylic Gouache on Canvas

Uncomfortable Table: Service is an extended series from Uncomfortable Table. From beneath the table, a slick tangle of tentacles rises and quietly steals the meal. The two figures standing beside it don’t react; they keep their conversation, eyes fixed anywhere but the center. It asks what happens when etiquette and small talk become a buffer against the obvious, and how that practiced calm makes it easier for the damage to keep going. The piece isn’t about ignorance so much as habit–denial rehearsed until it feels like normal.
