Additional Details | “Insomnia” criticizes the overstimulation and loss of direction in modern society. The blue road sign labeled INSOMNIA stands for both destinationand diagnosis, pointing toward a place and a state of being. A knot of rampsand rails represents the confusion: routes multiply while the sense of direction fades. I built this tangle to let the eye wander and double back, andnever quite arrive, the way thoughts loop at 2 a.m. The lone train keeps moving even long after the streets are quiet: one system never shuts down. The piece maps sleeplessness as infrastructure, geometry still running after everything else has stopped.
